Mural painting at Muvim museum, Valencia. Mural to commemorate on November 25th the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
We appreciate so much being the voice who brings the daily problem to the museum, finding safety and courage in an institutional space to talk about freedom and women rights.
Curated by @vinzfeelfree , we leave here some of his reflections about our mural:
“This mural manages to take us from the particular to the general. It speaks of the man who desires redemption, who assumes his behaviors and promises to evolve. But he is the first one who knows he is a liar: He is not going to change because he is more comfortable from that privileged position. And that works in sexism and in any area of behaviour where there is an imbalance between the parties.
That mural is all human beings. At some point in our lives, we have been that Pinocchio, who in public says one thing but in private does the opposite. Whether out of fear of losing status, not to appear weak, or simply out of mischief. Or surely because changing costs a lot of time and effort, as much as maturing, and some prefer to live eternally childish, like a wooden child who will never grow up.”
